Don't kill/catch. Just photograph!
You would expect that like other Pokémon games you have to catch and/or try to defeat the Pokémon. But this is one of the few Pokémon games that aims to photograph the Pokémon! You do this in beautiful landscapes where the Pokémon fit in, such as volcanic areas with fire Pokémon. Pokémon Snap

One of a kind!
Pokémon Snap is a super unique Pokémon game. I purchased this game in 2020 and immediately completed it. The controls feel very smooth, the game is nostalgic for Pokémon lovers, and the graphics are very pleasant. The game consists of different levels that you can complete by photographing as many Pokémon as possible, which are then registered in your Pokédex. The Pokémon roam around an island and interact a lot with each other, allowing for many beautiful, unique photos to be taken. Some levels require you to unlock them through well-thought-out paths. In summary, it's a unique game that provides a lot of fun! Nintendo will be releasing a Pokémon Snap for the Nintendo Switch in the future. So, this game is the perfect nostalgic preparation!

Pokémon Snap is a must-have
Thinking of all those Japanese people with caps on and big cameras around their necks, I understand why Pokémon Snap is doing so well in Japan. However, I have deep respect for the way they managed to get Dre and me so excited that we spent three days photographing virtual pocket monsters. Pokémon Snap is truly a very fun game and definitely a must-have for the N64.

There's No Game Like Pokémon Snap
Pokémon Snap is incredibly unique. There's no game that compares to it, and once you start, you won't want to stop until you've found all the Pokémon.

Pokémon Snap is a fun and unique game!
In Pokémon Snap, you have to photograph all the Pokémon you can find! You can find 63 different Pokémon and you also have to search for pieces in the landscape that have characteristics of Pokémon. There are also many Pokémon that are hidden and that you can only bring out with one of the items you get from Professor Oak.
Pokémon Snap is a very short game, but it's fun to take out of the cupboard regularly!

Product Description

Hello there, Pokémon Trainers! Mr. M here, and I am thrilled to tell you all about Pokémon Snap for the Nintendo 64! Wowie! In this unique game, developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo, you step into the shoes of Todd Snap, a Pokémon photographer. You travel to various beautiful islands to snap photos of Pokémon in their natural habitat. Fantastic, isn't it?

The gameplay is quite different from traditional Pokémon games. Instead of capturing and battling Pokémon, your goal is to capture the most stunning photos. You ride in the Zero-One, a special vehicle that takes you through different levels. Along the way, you can use items like apples and Pester Balls to lure the Pokémon or elicit special reactions for that perfect shot. Your photos are evaluated by Professor Oak based on pose, size, and whether the Pokémon is centered in the frame.

Historical Context

Pokémon Snap was released in 1999 and was an instant hit! It was one of the first Pokémon games to depart from the traditional RPG style and offer something completely new. Over the years, it has become a cult classic, with fans still enjoying the unique gameplay and nostalgic charm. And did you know that a sequel was released in 2021 for the Nintendo Switch called New Pokémon Snap? Fantastic!
