If you change your control style from 1.1 to 1.2 Solitaire, where you control foot movements with the C buttons and head movements with your analog stick, you can move about 40% faster by simultaneously pressing the top C button with the right or left C button. This way, you move diagonally, but up to about 40% faster than usual. It takes some getting used to, but after a while, you'll get the hang of it. I discovered this because I didn't enjoy playing with the normal control style and preferred controlling head movements with the analog stick along with the "inverted look" setting. I always kept this huge speed advantage a secret while playing against others, making it very difficult for the opponent to win.
