If you've played all the matches of Mario Tennis from start to finish and you're playing as your favorite character, press the left and right shoulder buttons. A little star will appear next to your character. Now you'll find it easier to smash (a NiceShot, in other words), and your backhand will also be stronger, which can be very advantageous with certain characters who struggle to hit the ball (like Boo & ShyGuy). Good luck with those smashes!
