Speed Sensation and Floaty Physics in AeroGauge
AeroGauge for the Nintendo 64 is a futuristic racing game. The game is set in the year 2065. You participate in races with hovering vehicles in fast-paced, futuristic environments. Where have I heard that before? This sounds very much like F-Zero, Nintendo's futuristic and super-fast racer. Could it be compared to that?

In terms of gameplay, AeroGauge offers a mix of fast action and challenging turns. The vehicles can hover and fly through circuits full of obstacles, requiring you to manage both your speed and precise control. The sense of speed is one of the strong points of the game, thanks in part to the smooth framerate. However, it can sometimes be difficult to maintain control due to the floaty physics.

The graphics are colourful but quite simple, especially compared to other racing games from the same era. AeroGauge certainly doesn't excel in this area. There are few details in the environments and quite a few textures are rather ugly or flicker. The number of circuits and vehicles is also fairly limited, which means you might quickly tire of it.

In short, AeroGauge offers a decent experience for fans of racing games, but it falls short in depth and content compared to larger titles like F-Zero X.

Real racing game.
As with any racing game, it's a matter of personal preference. There are many different racing games out there, each with its own theme. AeroGauge, set in the future, is definitely worth getting. It takes some practice, but once you master the various power-ups, you'll keep winning!

In my opinion, it's a good game, but it's not for everyone.

Lots of competition in the future!
Although this is not a bad game, there is a lot of competition in the genre of futuristic racing games: Wipeout 64, F-Zero X, and Extreme G.
Furthermore, this game is not easy. Unless you learn to use the 'Boosts' perfectly, you won't get far in this game.
If you're looking for a futuristic racing game, consider buying Wipeout 64, F-Zero X, or Extreme G. If you already have these games and are up for a new challenge, give AeroGauge a try.

Developed by Locomotive Corporation and published by ASCII Entertainment, this game offers a sensational experience with its high-speed races and hovering vehicles. Historical Context:

AeroGauge was released in 1997, a time when futuristic racing games were highly popular. The game emerged during the heyday of the Nintendo 64 and was seen as a unique addition to the genre. While it didn't reach the popularity of titles like F-Zero X, it still managed to attain a cult status among fans of futuristic racers. The game was praised for its speed and challenging courses but also faced criticism for its controls and difficulty level. Nonetheless, AeroGauge remains an intriguing title for collectors and N64 enthusiasts.

Expert Reviews:

How can I unlock the N64 controller vehicle in the game?

In this game, you can unlock a vehicle in the shape of a N64 controller. To achieve this, you need to set a lap time in Time Attack that ends in .064 seconds. I've never managed to do this, but with enough tries, you'll surely succeed.
